What to Study? What NOT to study?

The Mains Examination will consist of 6 compulsory papers and 1 optional subject (Only for candidates applying for group A and / or B ) to be chosen by the candidates from the list of optional subjects given below.

There will be 2 papers of the optional subject of 200 marks each. Each paper, Compulsory or optional , will carry 200 marks and will be of 3 hours duration.

  • The trick is to start WBCS Prelims & WBCS Mains preparation together at the same time .One should not wait for the result of prelims to start preparing for the mains as it would be foolish thing to do.
  • Many subjects overlap with prelims such as: Indian National Movement, Geography, Science, Current Affairs etc. Hence one just need to revise again.
  • Don’t burden yourself with too much books. Study what you will be able to retain before the exam.
